Election of Two Parent Governors
We have received ten nominations for the two Parent Governor vacancies on our governing body, and are therefore holding a ballot to elect two candidates. The ballot is electronic, via MS Forms; parents are required to submit their names, as well as the name of their oldest child at the school as part of the voting process.
As there are two vacancies, each parent* of a registered student at the school will be allowed to vote for no more than two candidates.
Irrespective of the number of children who are registered as students at the school, each parent will only be allowed one ballot.
*Definition of a "parent" in accordance with the Education Act, 1996, Section 576:
"Parent", in relation to a child or young person, includes any person:
(a) who is not the natural parent but has ‘parental responsibility’ for the child
(b) who has care of the child.
Voting opens today, Friday 6th December, and the vote closes at 9:00am on Monday 16th December.
