New for September 2023 - School Lottery!
We are delighted to be launching a Private School Fund lottery this year! This lottery has been set up specifically to raise money and make a difference for our students.
The Private School Fund is a registered charity (Charity Registration No. 516935), and its objectives are:
"Advancing the education of the pupils of Durham Johnston Comprehensive School by providing and assisting in the provision of the facilities for the education (including extra-curricular education) of pupils at the school not normally provided by the local authority".
The Trustees are the Leadership Group of the school, chaired by Mr O'Sullivan. The trust fund handles the finances of a variety of educational trips, events and projects, and contributes to prizes and awards. Contributions are also made from the fund to assist the school in developing projects within departments such as SEND and Science, which are partially funded by the Local Education Authority.
Social justice is central to our ethos at Durham Johnston Comprehensive School, and a key function of the fund is to enable us to provide assistance to those who need it most, as we strive to provide diverse opportunities to our whole school community.
The lottery is a fantastic way to bring parents, carers, teachers and the wider community together, in partnership with school, and at the same time give something back.

Your support is greatly appreciated, and we wish you good luck!
