We feel confident to resume these activities, after receiving the following guidance from the local Authority, Music Mark and Arts Council England. They state that we can
- Run clubs in school for all children, using school staff or outside providers
- Groups may be of any size, for indoor and outdoor provision
The Department for Education explains that ‘teaching music … can be particularly valuable for supporting children’s wellbeing, and helping them to build more self-confidence’, but they do suggest taking into consideration
- Size of venue
- Numbers of pupils taking part/ maintaining consistent groups
- Good ventilation
- Observing social distancing where possible
Therefore in school our rehearsals will be taking in place in large, well-ventilated rooms, with pupils spaced away from each other as far as possible. We are not anticipating large numbers, but will limit group size if necessary.
Please do get in contact if you have any further questions.
