A Level/GCSE Appeals

There is no route to appeal grades based on mock results. There was consideration given to providing this as a route to appeal, but this did not go ahead because the decision was made on 17th August to accept the grades schools allocated to candidates in the Centre Assessment Grades. Any applications to appeal on the basis of mock results cannot be accepted. There is no right to appeal on the basis that you do not agree with the professional judgement of teachers. The Ofqual guidance on this year’s results and appeals can be found at this link.

Should you wish to improve your grade, you have the opportunity to take an exam in October. The school will cover the cost. If you wish to be entered please contact Mrs Gillham, the school exams officer, at L.Gillham@durhamjohnston.org.uk.

The deadline for A level entries is Friday 4th September. The deadline for GCSE entries is Friday 18th September. The exception is GCSE Mathematics and English Language where the deadline is Sunday 4th October.
