We have been informed by the Local Authority that some parents may have received the following email :
‘As schools will be closing, if you're entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we'll make sure you're supported’.
Durham County Council has asked schools to inform parents that this is a scam email and has not been sent by them. They urge parents that in the event they receive any emails like this, they should not respond and delete the email immediately.
