Catering
Durham Johnston Comprehensive School has a self-managed catering service, and we are very proud of the quality on offer.
Menus are prepared by experienced catering staff and are appealing, varied and nutritionally compliant. All of the drinks sold are also nutritionally compliant. All food is freshly prepared and cooked on site. We provide vegetarian options daily and can make arrangements to support those with special dietary requirements. Students can enjoy a two-course, healthy nutritious meal at school each day or may choose from a salad bar, pizza, sandwich and panini selection or jacket potatoes with toppings.

In addition to our lunchtime offer, we provide a break-time food service, selling a variety of snacks in accordance with nutritional guidance.
Access to drinking water is readily available from chilled, filtered water dispensers around the school and during lunch time service in the dining area.
Sixth Form Students access two cafés as well as the main servery area, allowing them to buy both nutritionally compliant and non-compliant food and drinks.
Students can pay for food via our biometrics system; using either a finger touch point or pin code. Please see the ParentPay detail on the website for further information.
