Withdrawal of the Maintained Concessionary School Transport Scheme

We are aware that some of our students will be affected by Durham County Council’s decision to withdrawal the maintained concessionary school transport scheme. Following contact from a number of affected families, the matter was discussed by the Governing Body, and the Chair of Governors has written to the Director of Children and Young People’s Services outlining our concerns. We have approached local bus companies on behalf of parents, but unfortunately have been informed that a private service would not be economically viable.
