On Thursday last week we welcomed a cast of 45 talented American singers, songwriters, dancers and actors for the second year running. The Young Americans arrived in school on Thursday to work with around 180 students in Years 7-11. The Young Americans are aged between 18 and 23 and are some of the finest young performers in the USA.

The workshop lasted for three days and culminated in an afternoon matinee and an evening performance on Saturday 22nd March. Both performances were truly spectacular and were enjoyed by family, friends and staff. The students involved thoroughly enjoyed the chance to work with experienced and skilled performers and to build their own confidence, develop their talents and for the opportunity to work together with pupils from different year groups.

For those who missed the opportunity to see either of last week’s performances and would be interested in seeing the Young Americans, they are hosting a fund raising concert in Hartlepool on the 3rd of April to help raise money for their outreach program in South Africa. Please contact me for details on how to get tickets for this show.

Full details of the Young Americans project can be found at their website www.youngamericans.org
